On Leadership

I recently got a promotion at work, and I'm well and truly ensconced in middle management now. When I first entered management, some time ago, I asked a friend, an experienced manager for his leadership tips. He had only two -

  1. Give people the dignity and respect that you expect from them

  2. Treat people like competent professionals who know what they are doing

These have proven to be excellent principles, and I commend them to anyone in leadership.
