"Insolence Upbraided"

Interesting little exchange recorded on Pyromaniacs. I agree the original writer was rather judgmental, but I must admit to great unease with visiting preachers who "pass around the plate". I've been to evangelistic events where this has happened! Not a good look. I feel it's much better to have the event sponsors and the speaker agree on a fee beforehand, with no special offering taking place. If costs need to be covered (a venue, for example), then the most above board method is to sell tickets.
