Rules of Engagement

MK has rules of engagement for his boys when they play fight -

No shooting innocent bystanders, girls (unless they really want to play) or your mother.
You have to use force to do good, protect the weak.
No disproportionate use of force on a younger sibling.
No fighting inside.
No blood. No sticks. No hitting about the face and head.
You can cry out 'Stop, I don't like it' which finishes the attack.

I've done something similar with my 3 boys, who all like to fight a bit. The basic rules are no kicking, and no punching to the head. Everyone understands that groin strikes are not on either. Otherwise they can go for it. Yeah, it often ends in tears, but so long as there's no blood and no broken bones, no harm done. And they love all the physical contact.
